2015 to 2020
This 5-year, USD 51 million USAID project aims to enable more than 1 million Kenyans in nine counties to gain access to improved WASH services and assist households in gaining access to irrigation and nutrition services.
BfA works with 13 public utilities in 9 counties to:
- Upgrade strategic and business plans, and develop performance improvement plans to meet regulatory compliance norms and improve key performance indicators;
- Develop commercially and financially viable investment proposals to expand reach and improve the utility financial position;
- Train utility staff, board members and other stakeholders in corporate governance, gender equality mainstreaming, customer satisfaction surveys, market assessments, customer care, and community outreach and education to improve service delivery.
